I just read that 51% of Canadians felt that major reforms were needed in the healthcare system. 38% felt minor changes were needed & 10% felt the entire system needed to be scrapped.
Do you find these numbers realistic?
I also read that wait times for elective procedures were approaching 5 months on average......
Just wondered if this is what we have to look forward to........

Canadians want reforms because our system is going away from the British/French/European system and more towards the American one. A lot of people are pissed about the talk currently going on that says we are going to have start paying out of pocket for certain tests, procedures, etc.

Elective procedures for me here in the Toronto area are about 2 months. I have a small hernia, doesn't really bother me but I should get it fixed. My GP booked my specialist appointment in the middle of July, saw the specialist in the middle of August, surgery was scheduled for end of Sept., but I asked for it to be around Christmas as I didn't want to burn too many of my sick days that the school board gives us each year. Rural parts of Canada, 5 months would be a good guess.

Oh and the Toronto police force finally found the video of the Toronto mayor smoking crack today.

That's right, the mayor of North America's 4th largest city after Mexico City, New York, and Los Angeles smokes crack.

Or does that make us more fun????

Hasn't that video been floating around the internet for a couple of months? If I remember correctly, there is a group of journalists there in the Toronto area who hold a vitriolic hate for their Mayor. They've been circulating the rumor that the Toronto Mayor was a major meth head.

But it's Canada. So there's that.
