Dr Tx, Goob made Doc WeeWee a doctor. He moved up from running a front end loader on a construction crew to running a front end loader for a construction crew.

Well, I've run a fork truck for the State (unofficially) and for a wholesale grocer (officially). I've built houses and air-conditioners (both on assembly lines, oddly enough). I've read meters for TU electric in Farmer's Branch and Grand Prairie. I've sold televisions from the now-defunct Tandy big-box store, "Incredible Universe," and engines out of a junk yard off of I-20, south of Dallas. Now I spend my days trying to keep all the people who actually WORK for a living, healthy enough to do so (and occasionally convince those that don't want to work that they actually can).

The "Doctor," thing is a real title - but it seems weird: my wife joked for the first 5 years that she was going to come to the Labor & Delivery floor and tell my patients, "He used to deliver GROCERIES, and you're going to let him deliver YOUR BABY?!?!"

Anyway, if we can't post our (abbreviated) life history in a thread called "Newby," then where could we?

have you read all the post in this it that does not make you certifiable then you were before you started.

Tried...ran out of steam around page 90 and skipped ahead. Sometime after one poster complained that everyone involved in the thread were "idiots."

So I'm not sure if I lose points for lacking persistence or gain them for having decent judgement....I'm also unclear whether the scoring system is from golf or bowling, so don't know if I'm trailing or leading.

I do believe that I'll stay out of any "serious," discussions with any of the "troublesome" names y'all have mentioned. I'm a) not smart enough about 6-man football to do anything but add to the noise; and, b) not calm enough to stay civil if someone seems intent on trying to insult me, my kids, their school, their mama, etc.

I'll just watch.

Yes, yes I AM easily entertained. I watched that dialogue early on in this thread. I submit it as evidence that computers will NEVER be smart enough to take over the world...if they can't get PG-rated language correct, I'm not real scared of them hunting me down and shooting me...well, not on purpose; I guess the bigger worry is whether they'll do it on accident.
