I've been wondering how they make those sleeves of crackers so hard to open neatly...................

Packaging trick. They're betting you won't eat the half of the sleeve that you crush, or spill onto the floor. You'll buy twice as many crackers as you need. And they make twice as much profit.

Obviously, this is an assumption they make about the AVERAGE consumer. My assumption, however, is that you are more like me, and the 5 second rule is more like a 5 day rule while in the kitchen or on the couch.

I just get a knife and slit the package. I confess to being just a wee
bit anal about opening packaging of any sort..................

Bacon is the worst............
Place bacon in freezer overnite, remove package, grasp both ends of package snap in half, slit package with knife. Perfect size pieces for frying pan. And your hands do not get near as greasy

I did a search for the word bacon on the message board, it returned 80 hits. 2 were referring to Coach Bacon, and 1 was referring to Kevin Bacon. The rest were all referring to meat candy. This post makes 81. Also, the majority of bacon posters were the same guys that frequent this particular thread. Hmmmmmm.

Bacon & Bacon drippings are the best seasoning you can get.
My mom will be 87 this Friday. She might weigh the same as her age. I've never seen her put butter on her toast but she sure likes bacon grease smeared on it.
I guess it will kill her one of these days............
