OK you hooligans.... Ol' Smokey is finally going to submit to a little back surgery. As you all know,
minor surgery is what the other feller has but this really is minor.
As I understand it, they make about a 3" incision in lower back and use a Dremel tool to clean out around
and free up space around a nerve that's been acting up.
Get to do this on Valentines Day. DSW is thrilled about that scheduling but I thought it was perfect timing.
Y'all take a little time out that day around 11:00 a.m. & ask for the good doctors hands to be sure & swift.

3 inch incision dont sound so minor to me, but the Dremel tool is 'bout right. Hold still and dont be a flinchen to much.

Speaking of surgery, I'm typing this from room 4909 at the Loyola Hospital near Chicago. My DSW was diagnosed with rectal cancer and had surgery today. She still has most of her rectum and is missing about 16" of her colon, stiff and sore and groggy, but otherwise is OK. I'm posting updates at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/judywooten
