Position: Head Basketball Coach-Boys - Poteet High School
Description: Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Head Boys Basketball Coach for Dr. Ralph H. Poteet High School. The appointee will report directly to the campus Principal and will be responsible for the basketball program as well as provide leadership and serve as a resource to the feeder school programs. The person will work closely with all personnel and students on the campus.
Qualifications: The Head Boys Basketball Coach will have a valid teaching certificate.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
* have a minimum of three (3) years coaching experience at the 4A - 5A level or a highly successful lower classification program
* have demonstrated successful experience as a classroom teacher
* exhibit the ability to organize and implement a highly competitive program
* demonstrate effective communication, public relation and interpersonal skills
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
Salary: Pay Range: A stipend of $6,000 in addition to the teacher salary schedule; 202 day contract
Employment begins: August 17, 2009, or as soon as possible
