Lots of talk here about the McLean Paducah game. I was at that game and there was a bunch of us watching both the game and the weather. Don't know how many miles away the lightning was, but it looked bad enough that it wasn't a surprise to me that the game was delayed. Grateful for school administrators that are concerned about everyone's safety. As for the game itself, it was a fun one to watch. Both teams were playing hard and well, and had the game continued I'm not sure who would've won. The game was delayed for 30 minutes at about three minutes before halftime (it was around 8:40 p.m.). One of the school administrators told us the soonest he would be able to give us any more information would be around 9:00. So I'm standing at the concession stand and at about five to 9:00 the Paducah coach comes and orders food for all his guys, wanting it as soon as possible. Next thing we know, the Paducah team is filing outta the locker room and getting on the bus. That's when we heard that the Paducah coaches didn't want to wait for the delay and they were leaving. We all stood there looking at each other going, "Huh?" Not sure what was going on behind the scenes, and I'm not a coach so I don't claim to know what they were thinking. I just know that none of us could believe that Paducah had just walked away from a great game. A big shout out to ALL the boys on the field that night. They ALL played well and showed good sportsmanship and team spirit.
