WV Backer...I'm gonna override that and say Whit and Amherst are not in the Panhandle!
Agreed.. I’d consider them South Plains.Billy_Hoyle":ptgxxf8t said:WV Backer...I'm gonna override that and say Whit and Amherst are not in the Panhandle!

Teams you beat end up being the teams your program loses to later on down the road. Happens all the time whether we like it or not.BigFan22":tp8dvq62 said:tdog5344":tp8dvq62 said:Lol well when I played mclean we usually put it on em and ran the score up so I'm glad I don't have any kids playing
I actually got curious about how McLean and Groom stacked up, so I did a comparison from years past. From the year 2000, the teams met 13 times. McLean won 8, while Groom won 5. So, maybe just some glory days syndrome? We all get it sometimes!
Absolutely! Just the way it is. A lot of these small schools hit a good luck with some really athletic kids, and then the well goes dry.

With that many big boys
It could very well be McLeans turn!
Every year is different.

Amherst won in 94 and 95WV Backer":29srcved said:bballcoach":29srcved said:I'm a sixman junkie and I've always followed mclean being in the same district. We all know the studs Crockett and Henderson and manns but I heard alot of other names on the radio like hannon richland and abshires who I thought graduated sounds like tons of talent and weapons. In my research I don't know of a D1 school that is from the panhandle that has ever made it to the big dance.
Whitharral won the championship in '81 and '01. Amherst won it all in '84 and '85. I guess they would be considered "panhandle" schools, right?
