Just got a note last night that Caleb Midkiff, a junior high football player for Cleburne Christian, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning. Initial autopsy results were unable to determine cause of death.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 pm at Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, with visitation Tuesday (11/27) from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Our prayers go out to the parents and family. I know the Lord is in control, but it's not easy being a parent and burying your child. As a wise person once told me, it's the job of the kids to bury your parents.
While we're praying, would you keep Jacob Ceniseros and his family in your prayers. Jacob is a 6th grader here at Seguin Lifegate and his dad is one of our junior high basketball coaches (Jacob played football in a local crowded field league this year and planned to play for the Falcons junior high next year). Friday, they learned that Jacob, who hadn't been feeling well for a short while -- nosebleeds, etc. -- has leukemia. The doctors tell the family that it is curable, but it will involve a very vigorous treatment plan over the next three years; with the first six months or so very intense. He is currently hospitalized in San Antonio.
