Junior High Success = Varsity Success???

my opinion- I think youth leagues with tackle football seam to have better success down the road. having the youth coaches that are working with school coaches on game plans too.

West Texas 6man football league is a really good organization. I wish you could have match ups with other leagues to see how everyone stack ups. Couple years ago we went to cowboys stadium and was able to play ranger and Meridian. I was pretty please with our skill set and discipline.
May and WV were both super bowls of their leagues and met and played one year

As long as the youth are taught the fundamentals I think it helps a lot. I see both youth and JH as prep, not somewhere where winning is the most important. That way by HS it’s a short refresher and then on to more advanced things that make winning more possible. It’s difficult in small towns just to get interest from parents and sponsors as well as competition with mileage and all. But, if it can be done, youth tackle helps IMHO.

I would say coaching continuity would help the most imo, especially with JH teams that do go undefeated for years. I've had an undefeated JH that had 13-15 8th graders and 14 7th graders before. Numbers help too. But that specific team had multiple coaches, I want to say 4 different coaches after I coached them. And the team I coached made the playoffs as HS players one time (obviously when I wasn't there anymore). And it was a quick first round exit.

i will agree with this 100%, i believe that is when we started seeing success. and it has carried on for going on 6-7 years of good football. and judging by our current JR. high it is not going away anytime soon.
