Jonesboro vs Milford

Defiantly I'll go against Granger and the Toy here though I don't know the rules in sixman. I played in one in 11 man.
0-0 tie, kiss your sister.
After Milford 45' ing the state champs and this being a home game for them I can't go against them.
Between the program, the record the last few years, and Coach Gallegos being from Strawn I can't go against them.

Nice stadium.

Might want to get there early for a good seat.

Meanwhile, in areas of the state where we still have most of our teeth:

Follett v. Valley could be a good one.
Groom-McLean - I-40 neighbors could also be a barnburner.

I personally don't know very much about Jonesboro this season. I would assume they will be a pretty good team, because they usually are. One thing I do know for a fact, from personal observation, is that if Milford dosen't clean up the rif raf they are going to flag themselves out of a game or two. What I saw Saturday against Abbott was good football team that was VERY undiscplined. The late hits and silly penalties will come back to bit them if they don't clean them up soon.
What you saw Saturday in hico was a very emotional game between two rival schools. Yes things got a little chippy but these teams squared off in the district championship and the semifinals last year and it has gotten to the point of where they just flat out dont like each other. Iexpect to see Milford much more focused and dialed in this week against Jonesboro, they know how big this game is and they know everyone in the state is watching...

I really have no clue what the teams lost between last year and this year. Jonesboro will have to find someone who can block Milford's noseguard. He is a difference maker. If they can block him they will have a good shot at beating Milford. Milford's offense looks to have the tendency of depending a little too much on big plays. It makes them a little inconsistant.
Milfords offense just might be the most explosive in all of the state this year, D1 or D2. #1 Tyron smith (Spreadback) is an absolute game changer! And I think he is to fast for anyone on the jonesboros defense. In hico they spread the ball around also using #2 #88 #13 and #12 this Milford team has alot of speed and talent but... That jonesboro team is physical! One thing i know about them is that they will hit hard and hit all night! I see Jonesboro taking control of this game late in the fourth quarter or in overtime, milford dosent have a good track record of winning big games.

Sarcasm at its finest! It just seemed like you were making milford sound like a dirty team so i was just explaining the history behind it. I do think they are gonna be way more disciplined and focused friday night

90slegend, I get what you are saying about the rivalry, I really do. You might even be on to something. I also hear what you are saying about the game this week being more better from a discipline stand point. Milford better do themselves a favor and get it a little more under control going forward because you are right, they do have a good team, but not good enough to continueally shoot themselves in the foot. Not alot of teams are deep enough and talented enough to over come that week after week. Time will tell!

And NO titles!
Maybe if they would hire you, RJ, you could turn that around!

You folks can't compete with The Jones and The Dawgs!

BigCzech, i totally understand. I do see them cleaning things up this week, but i just dont see them beating Jonesboro in a tight ball game. Jonesboro had a great defensive gameplan against calvert in the playoffs and i think you will see more of the same on Friday. #3 and #26 from jonesboro will take over in the 4th quarter and its just gonna be TOO much for Milford to handle. 52-50 Jonesboro

How does Milford have anything to do with Calvert? If they are such good gameplaners then why couldn't they find a a way to score or stop Richland Springs 7 days later. I heard an excuse that they just weren't ready and if that is the case wouldn't you look the coach. So the question here is who has the better coach in a tight ball game...looking back at state championships only one of them has a appreance in the title game.

Not what you said there, Billy-Boy. You said "and NO titles". I was just trying to clear things up for you and give Follett their proper due. If Richland Springs had won a state title when they were 11-man would you not count it along with the many 6-man titles?

i used calvert as an example because milford and calvert are extremly similar... they both have exceptional athletes and are championship conteders every year, both running and gunning with explosive offenses. But your right, the Jonesboro coach has never coach in a state tilte game, but he has beaten milford in tight games two years in a row.... im not sure weather this is due to strategy or milford just not being physical enough but in two straight years against jonesboro, milford has crumbled in the fourth quater so it would almost be disrespectful to pick milford to beat them... but it will be a very close game, i just dont think milford is tough enough.

Where the hell does the Yotes come into this conversation and I don't care about what their doing.
This about them panhandle teams that RJ was whining about.
But, know one will disput that they or y'all cannot hold a candle to The Jones and The Dawgs!
Shuuuuuuuuu!

Richland Springs was just an example... another example would be Petersburg in '63 or Rotan in '62. Were either of them to win a 6-man championship I'm sure they would consider it their second.
