Jonesboro 11-0

There's only one way for that to happen. They had to have won a district game by forfeit and scheduled a game in its place and won that one also. A non district game forfeit would have been a no game once another team was scheduled. So if that is what happened then yeah. Throck did it a couple yeas ago.

Looked it up, week 9 Jonesboro played and beat granbury cornerstone and they also recieved a district forfeit the win over cranfills gap, who had to forfeit the remainder of their games due to injuries. So 11-0 is correct.

Interesting ... this is a topic that was discussed among some TAPPS schools a couple years ago ... could you play a game and take a forfeit win for a district game that same week because the district opponent forfeited the game?

If I remember correctly, the ruling was you could only take one win for the week -- and if you did not take the district win, you would be one game short on your district schedule -- so you had to sit out the week and take the forfeit win.

looks like the scheduled Grandbury Cornerstone to replace the open week left in their district schedule when Cranfills Gap forfeited to them on 10-24.

If you look at Grangers district standings it has Jonesboro at 11-0 record but if you click on their link to see their schedule there is only 10 games listed (Grandbury game isnt on there)

Like hornkeeper said...it happens sometimes.

The remedy to everyones question as to why Jonesboro is 11-0 would be to get the answers from their coaches. That way yall have the right answer and no one is just guessing.

That's entirely too logical.................. and we all know logic should not be applied on this board...............

The UIL made a ruling on it a couple years ago when Throckmorton did it. In the case of a district forfeit, a team is allowed to schedule another opponent, they still get credit for the district forfeit win and they also get credit (or detriment) for the game that they actually play. So in that one case, they can actually be 11-0 after having played 10 games. You CAN get credit for both in the same week, if and only if, it is a DISTRICT forfeit.

But still you can't be 11-0...so they are 10-0

agree, but you have to show the district win somehow and when you are dealing with computers it is a pain in the butt
