Is it fair?

So what's the deal with Lubbock and Granbury? I understand the weather has not been good but why couldn't have Lubbock and Granbury played Monday? There were three games in UIL yesterday, all in the panhandle-ish area. Isn't it also going to put the winning team at a disadvantage going into the Freddy game? Fewer days to prepare and rest up for a big semi-final game! In addition, if the semi-final is moved back a couple of days that puts the winning team at a huge disadvantage going into State! Just sayin'.

The earliest any game between Fredericksburg Heritage and the winner of today's game could be played is Sunday, December 1 (TAPPS, like UIL, requires five days between games). However, a Sunday game would also require some special dispensation by the TAPPS Executive Board.

The reality is that the semi-finals game would probably be played on Monday, December 2.

By the way, there is one UIL crowded field playoff game today (11/26) as well ... and that third-round game will be played on Monday.

Ok, so it's Freddy and Lubbock. Wow, three days(?) to get ready for the next opponent. Coaches putting in some long hours in the next couple of days. Anyone know where and when?

It won't be three days.

Rules say five days between games, which would be Sunday. Unless TAPPS gives a special dispensation to the teams, the game will probably be Monday. And that winner will have five days to prepare for either Lifegate or Castle Hills, because the finals are set for 6 pm on Saturday, December 7th in Zephyr.

And as of 8:00 tonight, the Heritage and Kingdom Prep coaches still haven't talked on the phone, much less exchanged film.

I'm hearing Water Valley as a possible site from the Heritage people, which is exactly 170 miles from both Fredericksburg and Lubbock, both of them heading on US 87.

I'm figuring practice Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. No practice Thursday or Sunday. Game Monday, OUCH! That's be three practice days.

Freeagent, are all your Falcons healthy?

Didn't check today. It's always something going on ...

As for practice, well, I'm kinda thinking all these four teams have been doing that since August. Three solid practice days should do it.

You seem to know Coach Shipman pretty well. I'm sure he doesn't think it's enough time.

Heck, if he had six weeks, it wouldn't be enough time. All he does is complain anyway. The guy would gripe if you hung him with a new rope. Anyway, it ain't like he's gonna put in a whole new offense. He's only got three plays: run left, run right, run up the middle. Been using them for 12 years.

BTW, I think team meetings and film sessions don't count as practice days. And I doubt those Freddy boys have been trolling past all those fudge and candy shops on Main St. during practice time this week.
