Injuries from Coaching??

Tonight,
a volley ball smacked me on the head
while I was at the scorer's table.
I just happened to have my glasses sitting right up there,
and there were smashed down into my crown
and it felt like a small hammer blow.
My glasses exploded and
it hurt pretty good.

After a while
I was able to laugh
at the odds of a small ball in a huge room
hitting me right smack in the middle of my head.

Are there any other stories out there
of our coaches getting injured in the line of duty??

Jerry Christmas was injured during a football game as he was coaching his Veribest Falcons at home against Blackwell in in 1999. On a Blackwell kick off a Blackwell player on the outside went to run through a Veribest player, the Veribest kid moved out of the way at the last second and the Blackwell player went head long into Coach Christmas' knee. I think he had to have surgery on it.

I remember my good friend, Brother Robert the First ... Robert Davis over at San Antonio Town East Christian broke his leg or something like that getting run over during a play. Of course, the fact that he coaches about seven feet inside the line might have had something to do with that.

When I was a kid, I remember that when Dan Devine coached the Packers, he also busted his leg during practice because he didn't get outta the way ...

Since it hit you in the head, I'm guessing no serious injury, right?

And where are the cries for safety during that exceedingly dangerous sport of volleyball? Where are the helmets?

By the way, I still remember reading somewhere that in the NCAA, they once figured that the sport with the most per-capita injuries was CHEERLEADING. As I was once told, any padding in a cheerleader outfit wasn't put there for safety purposes.

Isn't volleyball kinda like basketball without the hoops?
Please don't hate me
cuz it's not an egg-shaped ball.

I would do it for the kids
even if my boss didn't make me do it.
jus sayin'.

Actually, one of the girls shanked one out of bounds yestrday and it went in the hoop.
I think we should'a got 2 pts.

I'm wanting to know what the bounty was for hitting you in the head? Did a parent put it up or did the kids take up a collection?
