Job Title: Assistant Football & Assistant Basketball Coach
Location: Groom Independent School District, Groom, TX
Type: Full-Time


Job Summary:
Groom ISD is seeking a motivated and team-oriented Assistant Football and Assistant Basketball Coach to support our athletic programs and positively impact student-athletes. The ideal candidate will bring energy, strong fundamentals, and a commitment to developing students both athletically and academically. Groom ISD offers excellent athletic facilities, including a beautiful stadium, gymnasium, and top of the line weight room, along with competitive pay.


Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coaches with daily practices, game preparation, and player development.
• Support game-day operations, scouting, film breakdown, and practice planning.
• Help foster a positive team culture emphasizing discipline, sportsmanship, and accountability.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and travel.
• Ensure compliance with all UIL, district, and safety regulations.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Promote academic success and leadership among student-athletes.

Qualifications:

• Previous football and/or basketball coaching experience preferred.
• Strong work ethic, communication skills, and willingness to learn and grow.
• Knowledge of UIL rules and athletic program expectations.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching staff.
• Commitment to student development and school culture.
