Girls Basketball Info

The coverage for 1A girls basketball is pretty much little to none. Anyone have information on how teams are doing across the state? The few we have played or seen I’ll post information about.

I watched Rankin, Whiteface, Morton and Ropes girls at the Caprock tournament. Morton and Whiteface are both average teams. Rankin isn't as good as I thought they would be, they have one girl that is athletic and plays hard. They just need more around her. Morton likes to shoot outside not much size. Whiteface seems to have a good coach and gets a lot out of the talent he has. Ropes is above average but only has two girls that play defense. Ropes doesn't use their best player. They also have one girl that doesn't remember she has a team. I hope all these teams have a good season and represent 1A girls to the fullest.

One other thing. Ropes doesn't seem to play as a team like they have in the past. They will struggle against better teams.

I have only seen one girls team, Blackwell's, they are pretty salty...beat 4A Sweetwater by 20 or 30 points, believe have also beat Lake View and Haskell and did well in the Forsan tournament

Everyone knows Nazareth is always good. I'm sure Dodd city is good also. I don't know who else is good.
