Georgia Bulldog Celebration

The Godfather #5

i was wondering what you all thought about the georgia team celebration during their game against florida on saturday. the entire team runs out to celebrate the first touchdown. georgia coach, mark richt said he told the team to do that to show they're not intimidated.

do you guys agree with this? bad sportsmanship? let's hear it.

I couldn't believe they did it. It seemed to work. It got into Florida's head. It was fairly obnoxious and very unsportsmanlike, but I guess Georgia needed a gimmick to believe they were in the game.

I agree it was very disrespectful in my opinion. It really surprises me that the coach told them to do this, I think it was very fortunate that the kids didnt end up fighting because it almost seemed as if that was what georgia was asking for

You could go either way on this one, but I have to say that after watching it a few times, I liked it. Florida has bullied everyone for the past 20 years or so, and Richt was standing up to them and bringing his team together. I know people will disagree and say it was classless, but I think it got them going and helped them win the game. All this coming from a guy who likes Florida and Mr. Tebow and Meyer.

I thought is was genius. Send a message when the other team is the most psychologically vulnerable. It's kind of like throwing it deep after a turnover. Now, if punches were thrown or something like that then it would be bad for sure. The mental aspect of football is so critical, you can disrupt all but the most disciplined of players. If a player is angry or frustrated about something that happened earlier, they'll be more likely to miss their assignments, blocks, forget snap counts, etc. A peel-back block can do the same thing to a player's or team's morale.

i thought what the coach did was ok. it sent a message to his players. i mean you have to do something when your rival has won 17 or the last 20 to get your boys fired up and believing they can win. good thing it didn't cause a fight.

i agree with red devil.....is was utter genius.....richt had to let his players do this! Like godfather said, it sends an instant message to florida that the bulldogs were there for business. and unlike an individual unsportsmanslike conduct, this was the whole team. i think it showed unity, not alot of class.....but it damn sure got those boys ready to play. they all did it as one and were ready to take the consequences.....i loved it!!!!!
