Garden City

Garden City is only losing four seniors and their young guys are getting a lot of experience. Going to be good this year but finna be better next years.

From what I know, GC played scrimmage at BC this year and it wasn't good for GC. BC scored 10-12 TD's to GC 0 TD's. Maybe I have bad info, but if true GC will have a hard go of it down the line if they can make it.

Garden City would beat Happy by about 20 points

As we all have seen GC did 45 Ira last night but I want to talk about how the score was decieveing, and how it doesn't show Garden City is a "Offensive Juggernaut". Last Night Ira stopped this offense a total of six times, which is a lot more than I thought they would. For once a lack of Defense was not the culprit in their loss, it was the lack of offense and dicipline. Ira had at least 10 penalties and 5 sacks on 4th down, and they ran the ball really well but as I watched their heads just weren't in the game. I guess what I am trying to say is Ira lost the game last night because of there own dicipline but Garden City didn't just take off with it like Borden County did in October. Bottom line Borden County is much better than Garden City.

One last comment #4 from Garden City made a chicken sh** play last night (as Garden City players always do against Ira). I'll explain the scenario and you guys tell me if it is targeting or not?

The ball was playing picked off and the return man was coming down the sideline #45 of Ira was pursuing the tackle by the sideline, #4 of GC came from behind him and met him crown to crown on the sideline.

In my view as an official because I have taken my Official's course, the tackler was a defenseless player when the hit occured and since it was crown to crown it should have been targeting. What are your thoughts?

Since this play happened right in front of me, I'll say that what appeared to you wasn't what really happened. It got called as a black in the back and the TD didn't count. It was a close call at that since another official was trailing the play, saw it, and didn't flag it because it appeared clean to him. Congrats to Ira and coach goodwin on another great season.

And also to clarify, since I'm very proud of the team, our offense was stopped twice in the game. Ira's defense is very good, so we are very proud of this accomplishment.
