Football equipment rumor

I had heard a rumor (nothing confirmed that schools that handed down equipment from the HS to JV to jr High are now going to be forced to replace all their football protective gear on a yearly basis.

Has anyone else heard anything like this?

Not looking for another rumor or debate just the answer or where to look.

There is a new state law that requires helmets to be replaced after 16 years.

I kinda have a rule. No equipment can be older than the kid. Works for me.

Shouldn't the same be true for our kids??
