First Overtime Game?

Wasn't the first or even close. Around 2010 and I believe it was Lorenzo, can't remember who they were playing but went to OT. What I really remember about the game was what happened before the OT started. Neither coach had ever been in an OT game at that point. The officials brought the two Head Coaches out for the coin flip and made sure they both understood what the rules were.

The first overtime game that I saw in person was between Valley and Fort Davis. It was a playoff game played in Garden City on Thanksgiving weekend. Fort Davis won and later played Strawn for state. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I think both teams were playing in their first year of sixman ball.

This is just what the rules say to do. In college or NFL, the captains go out for the coin toss. In UIL, the coaches go out for the OT coin toss.
