In 1924 the UIL first organized football districts. The largest class consisted of 8 districts containing a total of 58 teams. Let’s take a look at those teams and the school districts they represent today (2016).
Section 1 had Amarillo, Electra, Lubbock, Plainview, Vernon, and Wichita Falls
