What kind of shape are 1A football fields going to be in with this hot, dry summer? I remember going to a game where the coaches were filling in gopher holes with dirt before the game. On the other hand, I remember a muddy game at a small school field. They stopped and all the players were looking around in the mud for someone's contact lens. It was pretty funny when a guy pulled a shoe up from the mud. What percentage of 6-Man schools have artificial turf? What and where were some of the worst field conditions you ex-football players ever experienced?

The field at the old Maple Three Way school was full of grass burrs back in the 8 man days. It took weeks to get them out of my fingers.
