Reading through DCTF and these few non-usual suspects caught my eye...

Miami - bring back six starters on both sides of the ball from a 7-4 team

Highland - killer district slate with Westbrook, Ira, Hermleigh, etc...but bring back 5O/6D

Baird - apparently very young but bring back 6 on offense and 5 on defense, maybe 2024 is their year?

Robert Lee - Steers have 5 starters back on O & D from last years 8-2 team, think they could challenge Irion County & Menard

Leakey - returns 5O/5D from last years area finalist, can they push the top teams in Region 4?

I think I’d have to say Whitface, Valley, Nazareth, and Petersburg all capable of turning some heads this year from outside of the top 10 ranking

Some other interesting information on Miami, is they made it to the playoffs last year out of the only Division 1 district who had every team finish with a .500 or higher record. They did that after moving up from Division 2 to Division 1, and without starting any seniors. They were down 10 pts with 2.5 minutes left against McLean and came back and won in a nail biter. They scored a TD, made the kick, got the onside kick, then won by 2pts via a field goal, yes 4pt field goal, with 4 seconds on the clock.
