District 5 week 8

Lcs and TE have no love lost between these two only to be matched by our dislike of Freddy,...the kids are already 'jacked up" for friday night. This is a game for respect, which being now 8-0 , Lcs is still the poor orphan on this site. We'll judgement day happens Saturday night and I wouldn't want to be wearing green.

Brother Robert the Second ... there's no dislike of Town East or Freddy or Lifegate or now Believers for that matter. A lot of respect for each other, true. As I've said about Freddy, the worst part about getting a whipping from those guys is that you still really like them and they're gracious about it as well.

The coaches of these schools are all good friends, but admittedly friends who don't mind putting a beating on each other. John and Tim got the upper hand this week.

My good friend, Brother Robert the First (TE Coach) is probably smarting from two losses. Them guys in green and white are gonna be real grumpy come Saturday night. If the boys in blue take it easy this week and lollygag around on the practice field, they'll be in for a shock. But I think John Rabon put it right ... "we've got to go to work."

As for orphan status, we'll see what happens in November and December. Like my dear departed Irish Catholic mother used to say, "Talk is cheap. It takes money to buy whiskey."

The next two count ... for all of us.

dear apostle thomas

not trying to talk trash for the players, but from what i understand lifegate's players are out to get some payback for last year...

that means all of the respect that they have for these two teams is matched or even exceeded by the urge to stomp them through the ground....

call it whatever you want but i don't think these teams are eager to hug each other on the 40 yd line and say good luck before the game.... coaches maybe... but players... no

Caleb wouldn't even eat spinache pizza at cicis last night because it was TE colors....

we lost... bad...that cost us playoffs... and then bellville ( a team we beat ) beat yall.... just really hurt our guys to see that... and its more of a build up.. lifegate has been losing over the years to these teams.... and again.. the coaches aren't spiteful... i personally have nothing but respect for these two athletic programs... i just know how some of my players feel.... they know its going to be a tough, smashmouth game and they are looking forward to these next two games more than anything else this season... they are brothers with the other team off the field.... but a different mind set kicks in during the game... i wouldn't have it any other way

my guys told me today that they are not going to look at the blue sky this week, just because its the color of lifegate

Sorry John, but can't agree with much in this post. If you have ever straped on a helmet and played this game you know that this isn't about hateing anybody . It isn't about trying to cheap shot or hurt anyone . It's not about humiliation or rubbing someones face in the dirt - all those things that hate would produce. Actually(I believe) the game is all about love.Love for my teammates and not letting them down at any cost.Respect for the dedication and hard work each player has invested in the seasonIt’s about the bond that forms between players when they find themselves fighting through a difficult situation. That bond lasts a long time among players. I appreciate the level of new competition TE ,and Fredericksburg will bring to the field in the coming weeks. I hope they bring their best game. But I will not accept your fear because it produces weakness . You can be beat before you even make it on to the field. Grant Taft wrote a book called “I Believe”. He got his team to “believe” and they won a conference championship for the first time in 50 years. (overcame a 25 point halftime led by Texas) It’s our time .That’s what I believe. BTW ,I don’t care for whisky..lol
