Lifegate over Bastrop by 45
Freddy over Marble falls by 30
Believers over River city by 6

You know, Brother Robert, that picking "River City" is kinda playing both sides of the street. As you may know, Believers Academy ended their affiliation with Believers Fellowship and moved to a new church, River City Community Church -- the school is now at 16875 Jones Maltsburger just south of 1604 & Red Land Rd.; although not for long as that church purchased the old Verizon Ampetheater (sp?) just off 35 and Lookout Rd. north of 1604. Their pastor is what we'd call one of those "prosperity gospel" guys and the church is growing by leaps and bounds.

The actual name of the school is "River City Believers Academy," somehow the school folks and the old church folks agreed both could use the Believers name.

River City Christian School is an independent Christian school inside Loop 410 on Blanco Rd. They bought some property from the Oblate Fathers or Catholic Church several years back and set up a Christian School for learning disabled kids.

Well, Bill... I'm not going out making investment advice on Granger's odds. ... He went against Lifegate the last two weeks and they won.

Any win by a point is a good win.

John, River City is River City and Believers is Believers. I don't know if I will ever get used to calling them River City Believers. But, River City Christian has alot of new guys this year, I believe you will see a great deal of improvement from them this year. I am giving River City the edge over Believers based on experience. But, I hope I am wrong, I hope our district does well this year.

Coach Lifegate knows how it is to be the underdog. We also know that you won last week by a lot. If you want to tell your kids that we are counting you out then go ahead, but it isn't the case at all. good luck to you guys and unfortunately i leave this morning for two weeks so i have to wait for the game film.

Well, I don't know about these point spreads, but I'll go on record with two things:

1. I watched film until 1 this morning and Bastrop dropped several TD passes and had two bad turnovers in the redzone against OLH, so I don't know how much that 61-20 score figures into this.

2. I refuse to pick against Freddy until someone else has the trophy. Period, end of story.

So, with that, my fearless prediction is that Dist 5 teams will do their best to glorify God in all they do Friday night.
