Blue Bird

Six-man pro
We are three games into the season and no one has posted anything in this district. So I'll step out on a pretty solid limb and pick Strawn and Sidney, in that order, for your playoff teams. Someone else needs to pick 3 and 4, it may be way to close to call.

1. Strawn - 45's all 3 district games.
2. Sidney - good enough for 2nd. Easily.
3. Rising Star - not the same team from last year, if there is a close game in any district games it will be RS vs Sidney.
4. Moran - one of my favorite teams cause they are little, low in numbers, and never give up. If they gave point for heart, they would be state contendors.

I have seen Rising Star, Sidney and Strawn play, as long as Sidney's good RB stays healthy, the game between Sidney and Strawn will last longer than the game between Sidney and Rising Star.

Was suprised by the Sidney win over Lingleville. Have not seen L this year but they looked good last. Read about a player other than Van Krandenberg? scoring 7 td's in another game. Thought I read S might not be that strong this year.

A phrase like "not that strong" can have a wide definition depending on who the compition is. Sidney went 2-8 and 1-3 last year, that probably helped push the idea of being weak along. Their good RB broke a leg in the second or third game last year, otherwise they would have won the old district again. Sidney does not have a lot of depth, I expect them to play Strawn strong in 1st half and then fade in the second.

Should have, could have, would have!

Injuries happen in football. The point I was trying to make and obviously didn't is, if you are using last years record as a point of reference for this years team you will be missing the mark. I think all three ranking systems and DCTF did just that.

He was healthy. But the game lasted the same amount of time. Rising Star was able to score against Strawn tho.
Wasn't the Sidney team I was expecting to see.
