Differences Between Republicans and Democrats

Differences Between Republicans and Democrats...

* Republicans say "Merry Christmas!" Democrats say "Happy Holidays!"
* Republicans help the poor during the holidays by sending $50 to the Salvation Army. Democrats help the poor by giving $50, one buck at a time, to panhandlers on the street.

* Democrats get back at the Republicans on their Christmas list by giving them fruitcakes. Republicans re-wrap them and send them to in-laws.

* Democrats let their kids open all the gifts on Christmas Eve. Republicans make their kids wait until Christmas morning.

* When toasting the holidays, Republicans ask for eggnog or mulled wine. Democrats ask for a "Bud."

* When not in stores, Republicans shop from a catalog. Democrats watch for "incredible TV offers" on late night television.

* Democrats do much of their shopping at Target and Wal-Mart. So do Republicans, but they don't admit it.

* Republican parents have no problem buying toy guns for their kids. Democrats refuse to do so. That is why their kids pretend to shoot each other with dolls.

* Republicans spends hundreds of dollars and hours of work decorating the yard with outdoor lights and Christmas displays. Democrats save their time and money, and drive around at night to look at *other* people's lights.

* Democrats' favorite Christmas movie is "Miracle on 34th Street." Republicans' favorite Christmas movie is "It's a Wonderful Life." Right-Wing Republicans' favorite Christmas movie is "Die Hard."

* Republicans always take the price tag off expensive gifts before wrapping. Democrats also remove price tags off pricey gifts ... and reposition them to make sure they are seen.

* Republicans wear wide red ties and green sports jackets during the festive season. Democrats do too, all year round.

* Most Republicans try, at least once, enclosing indulgent, wretchedly maudlin form letters about their families in their Christmas cards. Public ridicule from Democrats usually discourages them from doing it again.

* Democrats' favorite Christmas carol is "Deck the Halls." Young Democrats' favorite Christmas carol is "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer." Republicans' favorite Christmas carol is "White Christmas." Young Republicans' favorite Christmas carol is "White Christmas."

* Cheapskate Republicans buy an artificial Christmas tree. Tight-fisted Democrats buy a real tree, but they wait until the week before Christmas when the lots lower their prices.

* Democrat men like to watch football while the women fix holiday meals. On this, Republicans are in full agreement.

* Republicans see nothing wrong with letting their children play "Cowboys and Indians." Democrats don't either, as long as the Indians win.

* Republicans first began thinking like Republicans when they stopped believing in Santa Claus. Democrats became Democrats because they never stopped believing in Santa Claus.

A Republican and a Democrat were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person. The Republican gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his business for a job. He then took twenty dollars out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person.

The Democrat was very impressed, and when they came to another homeless person, he decided to help. He walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office. He then reached into the Republican’s pocket and got out twenty dollars. He kept $15 for administrative fees and gave the homeless person five.

Now you understand the difference between Republicans & Democrats.

Tax Cuts – As Explained By A Democrat

If you don’t understand the Democrats’ version of tax cuts (and you are not alone), maybe this will help explain it:

50,000 people go to a baseball game, but the game was rained out. A refund was then due

The team was about to mail refunds when the Congressional Democrats stopped them and suggested that they send out refund amounts based on the Democrat National Committee’s interpretation of fairness.

After all, if the refunds were made based on the price each person paid for the tickets, most of the money would go to the ticket holders of the most expensive tickets. That would be unfair and unconscionable.

People in the $10 seats will get back $15, because they have less money to spend. Call it an “Earned Income Ticket Credit.” Persons “earn” it by demonstrating little ambition, few skills and poor work habits, thus keeping them at entry-level wages.

People in the $25 seats will get back $25, because that’s only fair.

People in the $50 seats will get back $1, because they already make a lot of money and don’t need a refund. After all, if they can afford a $50 ticket, then they must not be paying enough taxes.

People in the $75 luxury seats will have to pay another $50, because they have way too much to spend.

The people driving (or walking) by the stadium who couldn’t afford to watch the game will get $10 each, even though they didn’t pay anything in, because they need the most help (sometimes known as Affirmative Action!).

Now do you understand?

If not, contact Representative Nancy Pelosi, Senator Ted Kennedy or Senator Hillary Clinton for assistance.

When Albert Einstein died, he met three people in the line outside the Pearly Gates. To pass the time, he asked what were their IQs. The first replied 190.

"Wonderful," exclaimed Einstein. "We can discuss the contribution made by Ernest Rutherford to atomic physics and my theory of general relativity".

The second answered 150. "Good," said Einstein. "I look forward to discussing the role of Gingrich's Contract with America legislation in moving us into the twenty-first century".

The third person mumbled 50. Einstein paused, and then asked, "What are the advantages of voting Democrat?"

A first grade teacher explained to her class that she is a liberal Democrat. She asks her students to raise their hands if they were liberal Democrats, too. Not really knowing what a liberal Democrat was, but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands flew up into the air. There was one exception. A girl named Lucy had not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. "Because I'm not a liberal Democrat." "Then," asks the teacher, "What are you?" "Why I'm a proud conservative Republican," boasts the little girl. The teacher, a little perturbed and her face slightly red, asked Lucy why she is a conservative Republican. "Well, I was brought up to trust in myself instead of relying on an intrusive government to care for me and do all of my thinking. My Dad and Mom are conservative Republicans, and I am a conservative Republican too." The teacher, now angry, loudly says, "That's no reason! What if your Mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron? What would you be then?" The teacher paused and smiled. "Then," Lucy said, "I'd be a liberal Democrat."

A pox on both their houses…

The Republicrats want to control people by being the moral arbiters of one’s private life, a position clearly viewed as anathema by the Founders who installed a government limited in size and scope, with safeguards of the Ninth and Tenth Amendments beyond the specific restrictions imposed by Article I §8 of the Constitution.

The Demipublicans want to control wealth, to limit and redistribute that which one has earned in the interest of some esoteric “fairness” ideal, devoid of the realities of wealth creation, and the risks involved, a position clearly viewed as anathema by the Founders who installed a government limited in size and scope, with safeguards of the Ninth and Tenth Amendments beyond the specific restrictions imposed by Article I §8 of the Constitution.

Republicans lean toward theocracy, while Democrats lean to Fabian socialism. I want neither.

I want nothing from any government beyond a just adjudication of disputes, protection of each individual’s rights, specifically property rights, and defense of the national borders from invasion. Each person is the owner of his person, and may do with it as he wishes… I think you have the right to shoot, snort or smoke anything you wish... I’ll think you’re a complete idiot if you take something which is likely to kill you, or fry your brain and body, but it’s your body, and your right. If you choose to be stupid, you do not have the right to force me to pay for your stupidity, nor do you have the right to use the force of government to force me to pay for the bad choices of someone else.

In short, leave me alone…

Americans tend to care for their neighbours and are much more compassionate than any government bureaucrat.

The blame for the mess in DC is shared by both parties, but I would say it is 60/40 democritter split. There is a very large liberterian faction among the Republicans, while that faction is almost nil among the democrats. Whippersnapper, the Republicans do not lean towards theocracy. The faction in control of the party now and forever, except for Reagan's 8 years, are big government conservatives, (Eastern establishment) or as I like to call them, democrat lite.

Republicans do not lean toward theocracy? Is this a personal perspective (a view of your attitude) or do you honestly feel that there is no religious pandering in the “social conservative” message from the GOP as a whole and the majority of those running for the party’s leadership?

The social conservatives’ desire to be the moral arbiter for individuals in the nation is theocratic in nature. Issues such as abortion and same sex “marriage” are not (in my opinion) the purview of government at any level, certainly not at the federal level. Those issues, and others considered “red meat social conservative” stances, could result in an election, in 2012, which returns to the White House the most dangerous threat to the Constitution this nation has experienced since the War of Yankee Aggression.

Crony capitalism was once the purview of the Republican Party, but the Democrat Party has certainly learned the lessons well... and they have done it while keeping their constituency of dumb masses in the dark.

they are both a joke. and you can prove your own foolishness by thinking you either understand them or think they care about what you think..... they are here for one thing themselves and will say or do most anything to prove it!!!

Please show how, in legislative terms, the republicans have tended toward a theocracy.

I think you are quite wrong. You are repeating the buzzwords, but provide no substance to your position.

I am probably gonna regret this. It is hard to keep up with you guys. But I see it as an educational opportunity when a group as intelligent as this begins such a discussion. Here goes:

The only way our Government becomes a Theocracy is if Muslims are successful in their ultimate goal. To rule us and the world as an Islamic State under Sharia Law. That definetly isn't the average Republicans view in my opinion. Now I realize that the suggestion was that republicans trend toward a Theocracy. For example, If whippersnapper means the average Republican believes or Country can coexist with Christianity as the basis our Government was founded on, then I agree that is the average Republicans view. To further elaborate, it is my opinion that the average Republican believes our Country is founded on (not governed by) Christianity, and Republicans believe that there is a place for God, the Pledge of Allegiance, the 10 commandments, and Prayer in our Government at the local, State, and Federal level. I am definetly a Republican and will continue to vote that way until they throw dirt on me.

Abortion? Pure and simple murder of an innocent infant and was the opinion of a majority of both political parties until the 1960's and until the federal government involved itself under the Warren Supreme Court, a purely local/state matter. Ditto for Gay "marriage"? That is a pure and simple warping of an institution designed specifically to provide a stable home for raising children. Opposing increasing government involvement in purely local matters like education and law enforcement? The current regime in DC has proven by their constant bureaucratic maneuvering to bypass Congress opposition this year, and before that, the clearly unconstitutional "Health Care Reform" bill passed in early 2010. The clearly unconstitutional wars in Libya and the former Yugoslavia (Clinton) where they did not get Congressional approval. Remember both Bushes did get approval for Iraq and Afghanistan. Remember several interviews with 0bama and others in his administration where they bemoan having to follow the Constitution and wanting to bypass Congress to enact "Cap and Trade" and other economy killing radical environmental agendas. Remember recently the current governor of North Carolina suggesting suspending constitutionally mandated elections in 2012 which was echoed by several members of the 0bama administration?

The democratic party has been pursuing crony capitalism for a lot longer than the republicans. Remember Boss Tweed? Lyndon Johnson and Brown & Root and the TV/radio stations in Austin? FDR and his favortism towards corporations that helped him politically? Andy Jackson and his newspapers?

The United States was based on Christian Morals. Neither abortion (murder of a fetus Exodus 20:13), nor gay marriage (acceptance of sexual immorality 1Timothy 1:10) should be legal. Republicans' opposition to both is commendable.
