Dave Campbell's has Whitedeer #1 are they right?

I find it interesting that they jumped from number 3 to number 1 by beating at that time the number 14 team. The spread for White Deer and Spur was in favor of WD by 36 on this site. I think on here it’s pretty accurate. I’m surprised Milford’s points didn’t drop more considering the spread had them favored by 45. I think White Deer is good, and very fast. I think the number one spot is up for grabs between those three teams. Pretty cool to have two teams from the same district in the top 3.

I do not believe Spur was the acid test to determine if White Deer has what it takes to have the 1 ranking. In my opinion, WDs schedule will determine if they are number 1 or not. Weeks 4, 5 and 9 will be very telling-BC, Milford, McLean! McLean did not look like the dominant team it was last year. Blum looked pretty good but McLean's defense is not near as good. Blum was tackling Ben which is what you have to do to beat McLean and they had some missed opportunities to swing the momentum in the game. I dont know what Milford has other than the MI saying that they have best athletes known to man. White Deer has speed and they are very deep. At this point,as we all know, its only opinions and speculation. McLean, WD and Blum are all good football teams. Coach Richey will have BC as ready as they can be as well. Milford is said to be loaded again even without the great TaRon. So to answer your question, WD is deserving of a #1 ranking but at this point there are some other teams who could and should say they are just as worthy!

I saw mcleans Qb on the sidelines in Jayton in street clothes and a knee brace they had a total of 13 kids is say there run is over after how they played against blum but I only saw the first half and had to leave for a bit.

Watched both McLean and WD at Jayton. From what I saw, Spur will be lucky to make the playoffs. This doesn't mean that they are bad, but their district is pretty good. Blum tackled Ben way more than Milford did in the state game. They had to sell out on defense and this allowed McLean to score on play action and reverses. In the fourth quarter Ben was running just as hard as in the first, but was refusing to go down. He scored McLean's last two TDs in the fourth quarter to put the game away. It was an awesome display of power! In my opinion McLean should be #1 until someone can muscle up to beat them. WD has two shots at beating them and just might get done.

McLean is going to be interesting. They’re a top 5 team, no doubt. Their development throughout the year will tell the story. Going to have to develop that defense, and offense will be solid regardless with Crockett. That kid is a literal monster.
