Calvert vs. Crowell
May Texas
October 11 (saturday)

I'll be the first to take a poke at this one....

Crowell by 45

Don't hold me to that game info. :-/ My schedule is marked out, wrote on then marked out again on that date...

Start time would be the only change most likely. Ill buzz Coach and verify.

That's what it shows on Crowell's website

Was this game originally on the schedule? Cause if it wasn't why play this game? I mean don't get me wrong I want to see this match up but at the same time your risking injury before district!

I mean what is the point of this game? Both teams are in different divisions so they won't meet in the playoffs. I usually say don't go by who beat who but Calvert lost to Abbott. Then Abbott gets beat by Blum and then Blum gets demolished by Crowell. So its pretty safe to say Crowell will win this ball game. I guess Crowell can get a comfortably lead and then just let the backups get some playing time.

I'd guess the point is for both teams to face quality opponents before the playoff's begin so they have experience against better teams when they get there. I think that's Strawn's bye. I'd like to see both teams even if it's over at the half it might be worth a 40 mile drive.

Crowell was to have three BYE's in a row. It was TOUGH to fill a schedule this year. Calvert stepped in and wanted to play. Many thanks to them for playing this game.

By that logic, what is the point of any pre-district game? Why risk injury? Why play a game instead of sitting on your thumbs for 3 weeks in a row?
Maybe we should just cancel the first 5 weeks of the season, I mean, really, they don't matter, right? Or better yet, lets just have a vote and take the top 2 teams from each district and start the playoffs, that way nobody gets injured before playoffs. Oh wait....... How about we just move straight to the championship, this will ensure that all players for both teams are healthy.

Now if we can just devise a way to determine who should be in the championship......... Any help?

Heck if you want to go that route, I move we declare the WV as champions now and move on to basketball. No? Just a thought. That's the only way for us to make it out of Region 2.

Is that what you are suggesting we should do? Because that is NOT what I was trying to say at all. I didn't know that Crowell had a bye week for three weeks, so my bad! I thought they just had a bye week before district. So I was thinking why not just rest that week before district, because if injury was to happen to any key players for Crowell that community is going to be looking sad! I'm not against scheduling tough competition at all. I love seeing hard fought games that last till the end, but this isn't going to be one!
