Cowboy is a fan! Nothing more, nothing less. Not unbiased as he says. I spoke to him at the Mt Calm versus Trinidad game, and he told a group of us two or three reasons why Trinidad would win. After the game, he had the nerve to blame it on the officials. It was a 45 point win in the third quarter - the officials didn't do that. He picks his favs and sticks with them no matter what. No problem if he's a fan, but he says and acts as though hes an impartial and unbiased member of the press. Do what your good at. Be a fan and enjoy the game. Stop acting as though your something your not. It really puts a negative imprint on your credibility as a person. I was floored how well the coaches and players kept their mouth shut when he spoke to them after the game and explained the officiating. Sorry to be negative about someone who does so much fir our game, but enough is enough. Just sayin
Since this doesn't really belong on the Oakwood thread, I'll just answer this here.

You have absolutely NO clue. Cowboy does so much more than you will ever know. He has put in more hours to promote the game than 99.9% of all six man fans. Yes, he is a fan and yes, he has opinions. But that is not a bad thing. But they are not biased opinions. So he was wrong on a game, why does that take away his credibility? He's not promoting himself as a game predictor. He is promoting himself as a six man promoter, which he is. And a really good one at that. He has one of the most successful and popular facebook sites promoting the game, and his own website. So what if he has faults....... His faults are small enough that he don't mind his life, his opinion and his ways to be public. I wish I could say that.

The man lives for God, family, and six man football, in that order. And his family is spread out beyond what you might find at the dinner table on any given night. I, for one, am lucky to call him friend, and you, among many, are lucky to have him involved in the 6man world. Enough is NOT enough, not as long as the 6man community is treated as step-children in the football world.

Keep it up Cowboy.

Thanks, Shad. I would like to say that I am not solely responsible for the success of the Facebook page and site. There is a small, but great group of people that have done just as much as I have to make both great - they are just less publicly known.

I didn't claim he was lazy or not a great fan. All I said was that he is a "FAN". When he goes to games he walks the sidelines and says he, and I quote, "is an unbiased member of the press." I will say it again, he is a huge fan of 6-man football. There's nothing wrong with that. I didn't attack with contributions to the sixman community. It just rubbed me the wrong way to listen to his claim of unbiased, when he is undoubtedly a fan of certain teams and their coaches which again, is ok. One more time, it is fine to be a fan. But stop saying your unbiased when your not. I am very biased for Coolidge. I said it. See how easy that was.

So your problem is with the word "unbiased"?

un·bi·ased
/ˌənˈbīəst/
adjective
adjective: unbiased; adjective: unbiassed
showing no prejudice for or against something; impartial.

Based on that definition, I would challenge you to show me ONE person who is not at least somewhat biased. Being an unbiased member of the press does not mean that you can't also be a fan. It means that when you report on the game, that your report does not favor or detriment based on how you feel about it.
Example: I do rankings, I went to, and graduated from, Gordon High School. I am a Longhorn, through and through. But, when I do rankings, me being from Gordon has no bearing on the rankings. I don't give Gordon extra rating points, I don't take rating points away from Strawn. I am unbiased. That doesn't mean that I don't want Gordon to beat Strawn. It doesn't mean that I can't say that. But it does mean that I won't change my ratings, or rankings, based on how I feel.
Do you honestly think Cowboy is a fan of Trinidad? Why would he be? The only "bias" he might have had is wanting the team that he picked to win, to win. That doesn't make him biased, it makes him normal. I can promise you that Cowboy, along with myself, are both HUGE fans of Coach Satcher. Reason being, is because he has character and does it right. So, of course, we would like to see him succeed, which he has, and will continue to do so. Is Cowboy an Aquilla fan? Yes, he's from there. But show me a recap that he has done that reflects that. You can look long and hard, but you won't find one. That makes him unbiased. How about Jimmy Johnson, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, Terry Bradshaw? Do you think they are unbiased? I would surely hope not. If you do, you are confused. Watch their pregame or postgame show, you will see that they are biased towards the team(s) that they were involved with. Same goes for 6man media people. Even more so because of the nature of it being a small tight-knit community.
Last point: You said it yourself. You are a Coolidge fan. So you are upset when they lose, elated when they win, etc.. You think your team can win, as you should. You wear your team colors with pride, and you support your boys, win or lose. You try to make all of their games, and you cheer them on. Good, that makes you a good fan. Cowboy doesn't make all of the Aquilla games, because he puts the game itself over the fandom of being from Aquilla. THAT makes him unbiased. You CAN be biased personally, and unbiased as a reporter/media outlet. Cowboy actually does a great job of differentiating between the two.

This is actually amusing. There are teams I hope to see win. In fact, I'll give you 3 examples.
1) Abbott - great coaching and I know several of the players. (This is the toughest one to admit because I graduated from Aquilla)
2) Valley - Coach Tyler consistently has good teams but always seems to face someone a little better.
3) Aquilla - for obvious reasons!
Yes, from a personal standpoint I can be biased, but from a professional standpoint I'm not.

I am a big fan of Cowboy Parks, in fact the first time I met him was when MCH played at Coolidge in 2013 and CP had picked Coolidge to win.
Was he rooting for Coolidge because he had picked them to win, I don't know and I don't care, but he is a great ambassador of the game and does his best to promote it.

-Matt Rodgers

Agree with Coach Rodgers. I have always appreciated what Cowboy does for our sport and I have always enjoyed our conversations. Thanks for all you do Cowboy!

Please, please, please rest assure that none of the babblings of the "unbiased" Coolidge fan is shared by myself or anyone from Mount Calm. I feel very comfortable saying that Cowboy and I are friends, and we both have jobs to do. He is going to pick me and against me at times, which is 100% okay. It doesn't make my team any better, or any worse, than before his prediction; and sure as heck doesn't change anything between him and I. If he were merely picking his friends, he would rarely get to pick games, because he often has friends on both sidelines. I sure wish people would learn to agree to disagree. I'm very opinionated, but it doesn't always make me right. I enjoy hearing his opinions, especially if they're completely opposite of mine. Makes for better conversation. Kudos Cowboy! You and your wife will always have a place on the sidelines at Mount Calm; regardless of which side you're standing on, or who you picked ahead of time.

I think he merits a whole new category of stati and it should be up to all the other Authorities, approved by the Guru of course, to name said new status.

Anyone else think that "Dingleberry" would be a good status for Cowboy?

Now you're thinking, but I think whatever it is has to have a 6 in there somewhere.
Like "6man Dingle6erry" or "6man maniac" "6man Knucklehea6" or "6man WritersCramp" or "6man 6ias6oy"
