I had the honor of being invited to go to an assembly at Geneva School of Boerne ... thanks to Scott Stolle and the administration for asking me to attend.
For those of you who don't know, Bill Weehunt has been coaching high school football for 47 or 48 years ... you know, back when God was a kid. I think he planned this to be his last year of coaching.
On October 18, he suffered a stroke and has been making the long climb back.
I was asked to attend and present Bill with an honor from all the coaches in TAPPS Dist 3 (Div II); the Coach of the Year award. His Eagles finished 3rd in our 8 team division and came within two points of being the 2nd place team. It was a blessing to see Bill again.
Bill is doing great; walks with the assistance of a simple cane and his recovery is a testament to the power of prayer and God's great healing power. Of course, the fact that he is a cantankerous old coot and probably was ticked off about the whole stroke thing probably helped, too. But not as much as the prayer part. Please keep Bill and his wife in your prayers for his continued recovery.
