Ya that is just Lee's record at Strawn only...
That's what caught my attention, the total number of wins. I think phimutau has created an interesting chart to work with. I saw another list on this a few years back, maybe at the sixman coaches association website? Anyway, Lee was in 2nd or 3rd at the time behind Vance Jones and Jerry Burkhart in total wins if I remember right. IDK why either one of them is not on this list. Jones just retired in the last couple of years, I think. I know Burkhart has been suspended for the last (?) 3 years. But their winning percentages should still show up in the top 25 I'd think.
Regarding the list and Coach Lee that is for Strawn only, and I think it may be off by a few games. If they include all of Coach Steele's years at May along with this year they should include Lee's time at Granfalls-Royalty and Silverton. Where he went 34-18-2 and 28-14 between 1994-2002. Altogether, 62-32. Which would bring him to 270-99-2, a total of 369 games and drop him down 73.2 With Coache Steele at 12th on this chart base on % over a shorter time. 50 games to get on the list.
If you change the parameters to say 200 games over time the list shrinks from 25 to 7, w/o Jones or Burkhart. If you shrink it to 300 games w/o them that leaves only Goodwin and Lee off this list for consideration.
To complicate matters further I checked, then re-checked the record at Strawn and came up with 213-68. Using LoneStarFootball.com that shows a 75.8 winning percentage on this chart. Which ties him with Dixon and Hayes on the chart, without considering Jones or Burkhart.
Maintaining a winning record over 20-30 years is much more difficult than 5.
