To any who knew Coach Aja (Dallas Metropolitan in the late 90's / early 2000's...McKinney Christian, Lucas, McKinney Cornerstone, Greenville Christian after that)...Rene passed away this past Saturday. He had been battling health issues for quite a while and was in San Antonio when he went home to Christ.
Coach Aja started my coaching career in football at Metro and introduced me to the six man game. He was a mentor, friend, and excellent coach...like so many, I learned many lessons from my friend and fellow coach.
Please pray for his family (he leaves behind two grown sons and their families) as they deal with his loss.
