Some may remember that in the past several years, the 6 foot "get back" area has been more strictly enforced. Much of the reason was the collison between an official and a coach in San Antonio which resulted in serious injuries for the coach and legal wrangling involving the officials association.
I read on another site today that the coach involved in that collison, who never fully recovered from the injury, passed away:
Many of you may recall the terrible tragedy from 2004 where an official and a coach collided on the sidelines in San Antonio, Texas. The Coach, Terry English, was injured terribly in the accident and never fully recovered. Coach English passed away a few days ago in his home state of Georgia.
