Cherokee??

I dont know if there were any injuries that contributed to the mismatch, but Live Oak was superior in size, speed, and athleticism. Cherokee simply could not keep up. Live Oak also did not let up on the accelerator either, throwing deep late in the game, calling time outs, etc.

1) I recall a thread here last week that Cherokee did lose a player to injury last week in a scrimmage. I don't know what impact that player would have had. Cherokee had a number of turnovers (four fumbles and an interception) which did not help their night.
2) The score was 48-0 after the first quarter. 78-0 final. Live Oak's only TD's in the second quarter were off an interception return, a 1 yard run, a 7 yard run and a punt return.
3) Zephyr is a terrific host for a game and Live Oak appears to like playing there.

Cherokee lost a major contributer in a scrimmage with us last week. I have a feeling that they will rebound later in the season. However, no credit should be taken away from Live Oak. Great program.

Cherokee may have lost a valuable player, and I hope that he has a quick recovery, but I'm not sure if he would have been a factor. Live oak absolutely dominated from the start to the end. There was no doubt about who was the better team that night. Live Oak has a great deal of talent, speed, athleticism, and experience. Once again, I hope all injured players are able to get back quickly!
