Can both state titles be won by Hill County teams?

This would be impossible due to the fact that Milford is far from Hill County. Milford is Ellis County but it would be nice to have both trophies located on I-35

Ima go out on a limb here and suggest Doc Tinkle meant Hill Country in the thread title..

I'm pretty sure he meant Hill County but maybeee.... he was subconsciously thinking of North Central Texas hill country and really meant Strawn and Gordon of Palo Pinto County (he is a closet Gordon fan due to family ties).

I did mean Hill County. However, Milford is a few miles outside of Hill in Ellis County. I have restated my comment.
I am an Aquilla fan first, but I do cheer for Gordon as well. My daughter is a senior there.

I just hope all you people back east are ok after December 15 and the west Texas wind comes rolling through.
Are you saying we'll have to deal with more blow-hards from the West than we do now?!?

was refering the the chill the will flow over the eastern team when mighty westen teams come on to the fields. Once being an easterner I know the deception people there live under. Thankfully I have now overcome that deception and have come into the light of truth.

We have more than fence posts to stop the wind here in the east

We don't need anything to stop the wind out here. We're tough enough to live with it. :-)

Watched the PBS/Ken Burns documentary on the Dust Bowl the other day. By the end of Part 1, I was already cussing March/April of next year and started looking for retirement property in Panama.

I don't know if we're so tough so much as just stubborn, thick headed idiots.

And by "we" I mean everyone but me.

I watched it also we do have things to be thankful for. growing up in the east we would be visited by west Texas every spring. Even in this drougth it has not been too bad. People in the eastern part of the state have become too much like those in the those in the far east like New York. Glad to be where you can see miles and miles of Texas on those clear days.

What are you complaining about, Rainman? You live up there in the tight dirt country. Try a few days in March with a 50mph working outside in Gaines county.

My wife has accused me of being one of those. Everyone in your part of the world says you are one.

I will if you'll come ride pens in Potter County for three hours after lunch any day between Feb15th and May 15th.

I'm willing to take your word for it. I bet the only thing worse than being sandblasted is flying cow scours.
