Calvert vs Crowell

Wow!!!!
Trojans at the 5 yard line.
Interception in the end zone by Crowell.
They are still behind by 3, but saved a TD & have the bull with 2:30 remaining in the game.

What a game as predicted!!!!
Great job Granger.
What started out as an offensive explosion, ends in a defensive battle with Crowell intercepting a pass in the end zone to prevent the TD & get the ball back with 2:30 remaining. But Calvert comes up with a huge stop on 4th & inches with less than a minute remaining and they take a knee to run out the clock & win by 3.

Congratulations to two outstanding teams with great athletes.

I'm sure the Coaches from Crowell will kick themselves over and over on that 4th and inches. Its extremely hot here in May and both teams played Excellent. Great job!!

34 was T Hayes and he got injured in the 4th. Was glad we made the trip from Lubbock to catch this game.
I thought calvert blew 2 scoring opportunities by getting pretty with the ball.
Both teams play solid defense but both had 1 weakness that was exposed.
Crowell was exposed to play action pass, calvert was exposed to rushing 3 and giving up underneath well designed screens.

Was well worth the 5$ admission

Sounds like both coaches made great defensive adjustment's to stop the other at halftime.

It was a fun game to watch. Glad to see an injured Hayes tough it out and play...most kids with such an injury rarely do anymore. Proud of his decision. It is hard not to admire him for such selfless devotion to the team. Jaquan was exciting, too. He reminds me of another Spreadback I use to watch a lot.

This was actually two games in one. Crowell used a surgical passing attack to win the first half. In the second the table was turned and the goddess of passing switched teams which gave Calvert the second half win.

How about some ruthless logic.
After watching Jonesboro and Calvert on successive nights it has become apparent that when and if these two are defeated it will most likely be because of their inconsistent PATs. Both teams must make time to improve their two-pointers. One of the deepest regrets in football is coming up short because of missed extra points. Forget the weights for an hour this week and snap, block and kick. There is little solace on the morning after a playoff loss for lack of making PATs. "Well, we got beat for going 3 of 9 with extra points, but our arms were bigger than theirs."

I realize I'm preaching to the choir.
Good therapy here, too.

Wonder Dog, I didn't see any Play Action by Calvert. I was visiting while watching...were those Jbird long balls out of a Play Fake?
You flattened the nail into a penny on the three rushing statement. The delay Screen killed Calvert's D early. That problem will be an Achilles Heel for them against some opponents in the playoffs.

After watching 11 man on Friday, and considering we have the extended weekend we made the drive to May. BE didn't get the pleasure to meet you, but we did get the pleasure of seeing and listening to some real sixman talk from coaches and fans. Appeared like every school had some sort of presence at this game. Crowell does a great job of mixing there plays up, plus there coaching staff stayed fired up.. Calvert, coaches for the most part appeared relaxed and quiet. You would hear a yell about down and distance but nothing else. Calvert relies heavily on #7 and his talent to get them in the right play call, or his ability to make a play. My husband and several others were calling Calvert plays before the ball was snapped. Like one guy stated, you can know what's coming but you still have to stop them. Calvert and Crowell will make deep runs in the playoffs. Im in agreement that Calvert needs to practice on extra points.
