Its quite some travel for them or someone heading their way. Hope they can get something with Benavides if they have an opening. Can see why they wanted to stay 11 man just due to travel concerns.
Yeah, looking at the team map, the closest schools are in the Corpus area (private schools), and those are 2 hours away, so definitely understandable. Hopefully they'll be able to get some games going with all those schools. It'll be interesting to see what their district looks like next year. Maybe they join Runge, Knippa, and Benavides? I'm not sure what Rocksprings numbers are looking like for next year, but they may be in the mix there too.

Looks like Bruni already has a handful of six-man games scheduled. I've updated their schedule here on the site to reflect the games that I found on their official school's schedule. Hopefully there will be more to come.
I suspect Bruni will be in the Knippa/Benavides/Prairie Lea district, along with Pawnee? Travel will be worse, but even in 2A, at least at one time, they used to have district opponents down in the Edinburg area to play (~125 mi. each way). Knippa will have it worse travel-wise.
Wait--I bet Knippa will be with schools like Medina and Eden. So Bruni/Benavides/Prairie Lea/Pawnee will be their co-members next year? St. Augustine will be a natural match for them as well out of district.
Enrollment at the school is down to about 65, apparently, and summer turn-out wasn't that great. They're gonna play 6-man at the JV level as well, so this suggests they see the enrollment projections over the next few years pointing to a 6-man future. (The local news in Laredo claimed they were the smallest school in the state still playing 11-man.) In recent years the roster hasn't topped 20 players.
Bruni is the only school in the Laredo area EVER to reach a regional final in football (in 2A-II), at any level--in '15, they lost that game to Bremond. So they have some tradition, such as it is in South Texas. They never had much of a problem beating Benavides when both were in 2A. The facilities are definitely up to speed (thanks to oil/gas), and the fajita tacos are pretty dang good (although I don't think I saw the guy and his truck/smoker set-up last season, now that I think of it--but I only went to a couple of games).
