Big Game

It was definitely something to see. The kid is pretty dang good. What makes it more impressive is that he was having an "off" night from behind the arc. I think he only made 2 or maybe 3 3-pointers. The rest were all shorter jump shots and layups.

I am kinda curious about the article..... What exactly made the game a "key" game? Gordon was 0-10 going in and Strawn's playoffs hopes had already been dashed.

Dead horse beatin time: 6 team district, 3 six-man schools, 1 11-man school, 2 no football schools. Playoff teams: You guessed it, the 3 that don't play six man. Past time to make a change.
 
Gorman should be playing six-man...but they are one of those "we will burn down the town before play six-man" schools. If they play 11-man football they should be forced to play in 11-man only districts in basketball/all sports

However, the problem with that is think of the six-man schools that play baseball and if that happened how crazy their districts would be! And I love it when six-man kids rip up 11-man kids in track...that would come to an end...
 
oneday, that is coming to end this year. We will be only 6 man schools this year. No more beating up on 11 man schools.
 
I believe the smallest baseball classification will be 2A with the new system.
Six-man schools will have to play up in 2A for baseball but it's really the same as the old 1A 11man school
 
I can't determine if this thread has (a) been hijacked,(b) was worthy of hijacking, or ((c) this is about that "game" they play with the the big spherical glob of air & rubber that is played after football ends and before it starts again. .................

I don't think we should make em play football. Just put em in their own little league if they don't. That way all of the non-football playin schools can compete with each other to see who is the best. They can be the state champs of basketball only schools. 6-man schools should be their own entity, regardless of the sport. Why not just have the same district that you play in football be the same for all the sports? A little shuffling would be necessarry, but it would work. DI district 5 and DII district 5, different football districts, but same district for the other sports?????

I have heard that the city of Lipan buys every newborn child of Lipan a new basketball and goal so that they grow up with it in their back yard. Don't know if it's true or not, but that's what I heard. lol

Pure rumor. At least it was 15 years ago when I still lived in Hood County.
 
Congrat's to the Strawn Girls and Coach Joe Crabb on beating Frost 65-48 for the Region Quarterfinal Title.
Next up tomorrow at 3:00 in Tyler is #1 ranked Saltillo.
 
The mention of "all basketball schools" made me post a reply. My son's team has taken down two all basketball schools thus far. Our bracket makes me think of the wests football bracket this year. "Meat grinder"!! Graford took us out last year second round and they avenged that loss this year. We put Eula back in their gym just last night in a big way. My Cats were down 15 in the first quarter then took control and beat em by 16.

We get Water Valley friday at ACU. WHEN we win its only Ira or Throckmorton between us and the Drum!!

So proud of what the Wildcats and our FIRST year Coach has accomplished this year!!!

Extraordinary, I love seeing a six man school succeed in basketball. But it's definitely out of the norm.
