That must be the same gym where there are two midcourt lines and they fill it with water in the summer when it doubles as a swimming pool. I believe the swimming pool/gym was in Goree. Can anybody confirm that?

By the way Stacy could win that district if they can beat Mozelle in the last game.

The 7th Man: I'm actually from Doole (yes, I cling to it tightly as my hometown) so I can tell you exactly what happened with their basketball team. They actually lost their last game of the season to give them 3 losses on the year, all in district. That was enough to knock them out of the playoffs. They lost a heartbreaking game to Fife by a final of 99-96 in triple overtime. What made it worse was that Fife was one of the worst teams in the district, so it was really a tough loss. Oh well, maybe next year! 8)

Well, I don't have much family out there except my parents... But I might know you or know of your family. Just send me a PM some time. I don't check the site every day, but I'll eventually find it.

Salt Gap is going to be scary next year. They have two guys coming up from Jr High, both over 6'5". But Doole always has a big homecourt advantage. Visitors always find it tough playing outside (on dirt), plus it's bad enough in the stands... having to avoid the prickly pears and mesquites.

I am ashamed and chastized and Lord be with the starving pygmies in New Guinea. Won't amount to a hill of beans, these other teams cause Fairy and them Coonts boys gonna win it all. That "Tree Coonts" is unstoppable. The NBA is in a quandry about him. You know that passed that rule that you have to be certain age to sign, but "Tree" is 23 and a senior so presents a problem. He was double 504ed, or otherwise known as a 1008. He missed some school when he was younger because he and the clan was coon-hunting and he fell out of a tree and ole Brumley tore into him, thinking he was a varmit, but I think I told you that.

In a stunning upset Trickham wins it's district because the UIL found out that the boys in Leaday, Mozelle, Talpa, Doole, Stacy, and Salt Gap were all out cow tipping.

My question about Goree still stands does anybody know if they use to have a gym that doubled as a pool in the summer?
