Can anyone tell me where I can find them or give them to me. Mainly looking for Boys discus, girls 3200 and girls Mile relay results.

Thanks
Coach Hughes

Districts 9 and 10 didn't have an area meet. They voted to take top 2 from District straight to Regional. Very sad, as many very deserving kids missed out qualifying for Region, kids who would have placed in top 4 if there were an Area Meet. Also, because of this ill-conceived vote, many kids qualified for Region who have no business being there because the Regional Meet is supposed to be the 16 best (or close to it) in the Region.

For the record, District 10 did unanimously vote in favor of an Area 9/10 Meet - but did not have the majority to make it happen. The kids that will represent these districts have earned the right to compete at the Region 2 track meet - they earned it on by placing in the top two of their respective district meets. Every year athletes around the state do not move on to the next round although their times/distances are better than some who have advanced in other parts of the state. At the end of the day it is on the UIL for making Area Track meets the only optional post season round of any athletic UIL competition. Due to the size of some districts in the state - especially those in less populous regions of the state - I'm of the belief that District should be optional and the Area round should not be optional. Just my two cents.

Optional District is a good idea. And I agree, the kids earned their right by finishing in the top 2, I just hate the fact that the Regional meet will be watered down somewhat. I know there will always be a kid or two in the top 16 of the Region that get left home, but now there are many kids missing out (BV has 9 events not competing at Regional that would have been there had there been an area meet). That's not right in my opinion.

We're on the same page Coach - but at the end of the day, it's on the UIL for allowing this situation. It wasn't the coaches in the districts (6 schools tried every avenue to have an Area meet), not the kids - at the end of the day 7 schools did what they felt was in the best interest of their kids.
