Alright I'm not great with technology. Terrible with it, actually. But my grandson was playing an NFL video game and it for me thinking and wondering what it would take to get a 6man video game made? Any ideas here?

The demand from several thousands of fans. Development and marketing of a computer game is not cheap. Most fail and there is just not enough demand for a 6 man version.

It would be a one off product right now, the six man game will need to go national in order for such a demand to come into play, but right now its not even regional, sure its a great game exciting some of the same things can be said about the 8-8 game of arena, problem is at the six man level which has the recipe from a building block point would simply need to expose itself to bigger contest between schools, and since the level of red tape is reduced it would be able to take the game to video much easier than 11 man high school because of all the fat at the top of the power chain to get such a thing produced for public.

Building block one the game is played at the junior high level meaning a group of future players are in play already for the video game, now problem to expand the game from a visual standpoint teams have to play or be willing to take their claim to big dog on the block outside their neighborhood I can tell you that you won't find a lot of takers in that respect, I could break it down further but I think you get the point.

I think it should be a game within a game.
Take NCAA 2016 where you can already edit players and plays, and just have 6 man league/8-man as a special
"extra" feature.
The developer would just have to adjust the rules and field dimensions within that part of the game.

That could spread the fame of the 6-man game to people who can't drive to watch one.

Writing game code is incredibly complex and expensive, especially if you outsource it to Asia. Even minor changes to an operating program take a lot of time and effort, especially for testing. Writing additions to allow editing for 6/8/9/12 man versions would take a lot of time and money. I do not think those additions would sell enough to justify the costs in implementing them.

It would be easier and more realistic to say, We're Settlers! We settle to play 11 man football digitally because it's really not worth playing physically.
