6 man football playbook

Hi coaches,

I wondering if somebody is willing to share his Defense Playbook. I'm a rookie coach and I search for something easy to adopt for me as coach but also for the young athletes.

Thank you

Call me if you need info. My number can be found by scanning the QR Code on my profile. There is a lot of Offense in the folder. I added files from when I was a DC.
I've seen your playbook. I wonder how do you adjust your D formation once the Offense alligns on the LOS? Example: you use 3-3 Stack as base, and the Offense comes in a spread formation. How the D would adjust in that moment? Do you have for each potential Offense formation a countermeasure D formation?

We would call on of our spread defenses that we had prepared in practice based on our scouting report and the type of spread and or spread back we were facing. It was almost ways a rotating zone with two corners and a safety. The three line players would be utilized to rush 1 or two players with the remaining one or two players playing the short zone for dump passes or scrambles by the spread back.

On occasion I would use one of the corners with more speed to be one of the rushers. If I had a bigger player, slower player on the line vs. the opponents tight formation, he would move to corner that was closest to our sideline for one play and come out for one of our back up corners.

I have coached a team or two when playing our big D line players was not possible against teams that played spread 50 percent of the time or more. My preference would be to never have a slow kid on the field for defense.

Our players were taught to adjust from the base to any formation.

Unfortunately we don't have a scout report or tape. So we don't know what to expect from other teams. This is the reason I'm asking for support. Maybe somebody can suggest a all purpose playbook or formation. By the way, I was looking at your D playbooks, can you tell me how the playcalling would look like?

I made some defensive stuff before I left Throckmorton to organize my thoughts in 2012. I’ve changed even more since then. But might be worth looking at. I’m not tech savvy. So I made it on an educational tool to teach a class. I’ve never done anything with it. But might help put someone to sleep if they need help.

This is always good information.... enjoyed your clinic you had in 2021

I am from Montana and new to 6-man football. We went from an 11-man to 8-man and now 6-man. I am looking for playbooks for offense and defense. I am also looking for pointers on how to best prepare my players for 6-man football

Brett, you must be from Broadus, I am a from Great Falls. Go on You Tube and look for Six Man videos out of Texas. Lots of video on the offenses they run. Depends on the athletes you have, go spread if you got a good passer and a couple of good pass catchers. If you have a good runner and decent blockers go conventional and run the ball. Defense is about surviving the scoring. Premium on open field tackling and working to get into position. If you can get onto NFHSS you can watch Highwood who runs the ball well. Centerville, Bridger, PDB and Box Elder had some good spread stuff. I have also found your QB is going to have to be an effective run blocker off if you choose to have him pitch the ball to backs. I personally don't like trying to run the ball from a shotgun as it involves a lot of ball handling and defenses have to be blocked a lot longer, just my opinion. Good Luck

I'm definitely not a coach, just been watching for 30 years, players will hate me for saying this. One aspect should be wind-sprints. As the saying goes, speed kills in six-man.
