As a spectator with no way to hear the officials explanation I am curious?
Here is the situation
Loraine @ Loop for Loops homecoming. Lubbock chapter TASO.
Loraine 42 Loop 36 under a minute to play. (very entertaining game by the way)
Loop has the ball and is driving for possible winning score, 4th down and about 5 #10 for loop their spread back took off to run, crossed the line of scrimmage completely by about 2 yards saw an open receiver threw the ball and I think completed it. Flag is thrown. (game over right?) Officials mark off a 5 yard penalty but no loss of down. So Loop gets a 5th chance to make first down, they run the ball and Loraine makes tackle, then runs out clock and wins the game.
My question is why didn't Loop get the loss of down penalty and have to give up the ball? Was something else called that spectators didn't know about?
OR did the officials blow the call?
