Jayton verse Ira score 1-0. What happened here?

From what I was told, the game went into a lightning/rain delay. After the delay, Ira decided to not finish the game. Therefore, it goes down as a forfeit. Someone, please, correct any of that if I'm wrong. I wasn't there so speaking strictly based on what I was told.

If Ira did forfeit, and Jayton was ahead at the time, the score stands as is at the time of the forfeit. It would only be 1-0 if Ira was winning or it was tied at the time.
Is there a specific rule in the rule book related to this? I'm also curious if the game has to last X number of minutes, or quarters, or is this the rule regardless of how much time has elapsed in the game?

The only thing that I can find on the UIL website is under Soccer FAQ - https://www.uiltexas.org/soccer/faq - with the exact scenario Legacy Zebra described.

I saw that, but I wouldn't automatically assume it's the same for all sports, although I did find that it is the same in tennis. I can't find anything in any non-sport specific rules, or in any football specific rules about this. Hopefully one of our resident referees will be able to help us clear it up.

Yes, rule 8–1-2.

The score of a forfeited game, or a suspended game that later results in a forfeiture, shall be: Offended Team—1, Opponent—0. However, if the offended team is ahead at the time of forfeit, the score stands.

There is no NCAA rule, or UIL exception, that says how long you have to play to make a game official. It could be the first play of the game or :05 left in the fourth quarter.

Great, this is good to know. Thank you!
