Before this game gets too far removed from memory, just wanted to 'shout out' to Coach Steele and any and everyone that had anything to do with the Brazos Bowl for the great job they did again this year. Hearing some of the players talking after the game it sounded like they all had a great time and that is a whole lot of what all-star games are about. I, like acer2014 decided to go to the game... although I knew a little bit about a few of the players...was very impressed with the overall quality. While the score was not nearly as close as last year's game it was a good solid sixman game with very few mistakes and even fewer penalties. Not sure I can recall an all-star game without a single procedure (false start) penalty (might have been one but I missed it?). Like 'swires', when the post draft roster came out I would have picked the Red team to win, but we were both wrong. Contrary to the 'naysayers' the majority of the kids playing in the game would have been standout players on any sixman team in the state and it certainly did not appear to me to be a 'one last shot' game for these kids. Hope Coach Steele and the good folks in Knox City keep the Brazos Bowl going and make it bigger and better every year.

Thank you very much. This group of kids were a great group of young men. It is very rewarding to get to know these young men and watch them bond with each other and become life long friends. They represented their parents, school, team mates and their community with outstanding character and respect. This is why I love six man schools/communities and our brand of football. We will definitely have the Brazos Bowl next year. Every year we are getting more kids from all over the state. I would like to get more kids from the east next year.
