2007 Richland Springs vs 2014 Crowell

What if I were to say I think Parsley is on the level of Ethridge? The kids a freak athlete with a better arm in my opinion.
Then you should prepare to get belittled by any and all RS townies.

I think it would be close, I believe Crowell has the better college level looking athletes, but not by much. I would say Richland had the heart and physicality, but not by much on the physicality part because Crowell is extremely physical. I think Richland has tougher kids and a "bit" better coached, but not by much. I think its a toss up.

first off let me set you all straight...the best 4 teams are probably in no order:

1985 Jayton
1982 Highland
1995 Amherst
1976 Marathon

...all of those teams would probably 45 the All-Time RS All-Star team (ok maybe not but you get my point)...

1998 Trinidad would give 2007 RS a run and probably beat them as well...

2014 Crowell...not going to mention them on the list till the seasons over...but would no doubt beat any RS team from the past.

I will say this 2007 RS is in the top 10 All-Time State Champions...but in the bottom half of that...1975 Cherokee would probably beat them as well...and then their is at least one or two of the Ft Hancock teams that would beat them...

Like I told you once before Leman, the 2007 Rule team of Mike Reeds would have 45'd any of the above mentioned teams of yours, and you can take that to the bank.

And, that and a buck fifty will get you a Coke at Allsups.

I love this kind of topic, and cant sit on my hands another second.
Here is a controversial list to chew on for a min or two.

Best all time:

1. 2007 Richland Springs
2. 2007 Rule (runner-up and would have won a champ' any other year)
3. 2002 Sanderson (runner-up in 2002. mercy ruled Calvert had Paul Green not missed the 2nd half)
4. 2005 Throckmorton (had Shelby not missed this game Throck loses and Valley upsets RS)
5.1991 Ft. Hancock
6. 2010 Garden City
7. 2000 Panther Creek
8. 2012 Throckmorton
9. 2004 RS
10. 2001 Whitharral

I didn't consider any consecutive teams, but named the best of the litter. Examples: Ft. Hancock's teams that won four in a row; RS's 2006 team; GC's 2009 team and Throck's 2011 squad.
Didn't consider Crowell's 2014 squad because they have two games remaining, and the 2013 team was beaten by Follett 74-58.
After the state game next week Crowell can be reevaluated. If they're looking ahead may not be a next week.

I believe the RS 2004 team was very good probably even better then the 2007. I had just watched the 2004 RS team highlights on youtube not to long ago, and man they would straight up hit you in the mouth! One of the most physical teams I've ever seen in sixman. It seemed like in each highlight of all the teams they played there was a player taking out of the game. So from all this comparison and saying who is better, just go watch RS highlights on youtube.

I would throw the Ft. Hancock team of the late 80's and early 90's up again any of them. They have a record of 70 straight wins and I can't find it anywhere but I would say 75% or more were by 45.

Want to know how to improve your chances of beating Crowell...? Dont allow Parsley to extend his plays so that his receivers have time to make double moves and bend to the ball.

Want to know how to improve your chances against Tyler Earl...? Send a wave of rushers to force the ball out of his hands asap, forcing a short dump pass or lob.

But in both cases there is a counter to that strategy, and we figured it out in '04, Hayes figured it out against Water Valley last year.

There really is not much you can do. Last week Groom had by far the best team man for man vs Loraine, but Loraine's Tillis was the stud on the field and until he got hurt it appeared that whomever had the ball last would prevail. And Tony was trying everything in the theoritical book to stop him.

Calvert also has a super Spreadback, and what makes him a stud is his ability to make plays that 99.5 % of players cannot make, except guys like Parsley and Tillis. And now that the Trojans' trust and depend on more offensive sets than just the T, they are going to be a force more challenging than ever...and with fewer and less talented kids than in the recent past. The Calvert kid was making decisions under pressure just like Parsley and Tillis.

D-1 coaches are relieved Parsley is a senior. Many hope the Calvert kid is one, too. Tillis is a junior according to the program. If the Calvert kid is an underclassman someone needs to get those two together in week one, advertise the fireworks and reap the benefits of having two of the best players in sixman matched up. Just be sure and schedule this one as the last game of the extravaganza so heat is less a factor.

According to MaxPreps, #7 JaQuan Thompson from Calvert is a Sophomore!!!! Can someone verify this? I got a program at home, but won't be home till 4pm this afternoon.
