Gordon is a public school located in Gordon, TX, inside Palo Pinto county. Gordon was originally established in 1880. Gordon first started playing six-man football in 1955.
Gordon's original school was only a one classroom school, with one teacher, for all grades.

Nestled among seven hills, the town of Gordon was established as a railroad shipping center in the fall of 1880. In the early days Coal and Cotton were the town's main industries. Over the years Gordon has maintained a steady population with a thriving school and business district. Gordon is home to the oldest continually operating Ford Dealership in the state. Gordon ISD has a long history of maintaining a high level of excellence both in academics as well as athletics.
