Three Way was started as a combination of three schools that were on the brink of closure. The schools were Chalk Mountain, Pony Creek, and Johnsville.
Three Way's high school was started in 2017 with a 9th grade class and in 2021 those, then freshmen, became the first graduating class of Three Way High School.
