Iredell at #19 is a bit insulting. They arguably have one of the best players in DII named Hunter Sheffield. He gave a solid strawn team fits in the playoffs last year and rumor has it he added some muscle this offseason.
Iredell’s stud was at best 60%. He missed all of district and first round due to high ankle sprain. 100% healthy he is a handful. His cousin #7 took over the work load but he was only a sophomore. Iredell 45’ed Oakwood in the playoffs last year.
Great game by both teams. Hats off to strawn for a dominating performance. Whitfield is their workhorse but I don’t think the high ankle sprain was fully healed and missing 4 games straight didn’t help his conditioning. No excuses, iredell came to play and got beat by a better team. # 9...
Don’t be delusional. Iredell won’t 45 strawn just like I don’t see strawn 45 iredell. Strawn has the edge as defending state champions. Iredell has Dave Campbell’s coach of the year and players with lots of playoff experience. This is the same team that 45ed Oakwood last year in the playoffs.
Whitfield has been injured this year and didn’t even play a district game or first round of playoffs. He usually amasses 40+ tds. He’s a 6’3” 180lb rb with 4.6 speed. He is also one of the top linebackers in all of 6 man. Not to mention he’s back to back defending state champion in the 100 and...
Still haven’t answered my question. How many state championships does Milford have in the last 20 years? Or do you like counting participation trophies?
