Heck of a game in San Marcos. Hill Country wins 72-66. Nobody ever had more than a touchdown lead throughout the game back and forth.
Heritage scored with about 2:30 left to go up 66-64. Hill Country took the ball down the field and scored with :14 left for the win. Really, the only defensive "stop" was HC stopping Heritage around the HC 15 on the last play of the game. Freddy scored too quickly on their TD drive and left too much time on the clock. HC used the clock wisely to limit Freddy's option.
It was one of those games that proves a rule taught by the Marquette Univ. basketball coach (and NBC analyst), the late Al McGuire. At some point in the game, your opponent is no longer the other team but the clock. And your job is to get that clock to 0:00 as quickly as you can.
